Born in Macon, Georgia, on May 13, 1943, Steve grew up in Twiggs County and was a proud graduate of Twiggs County High School. He spent his career as a Quality Control Inspector with Crown Cork and Seal, retiring in 1992. Steve also served faithfully for many years in the Army Reserves, a commitment he carried with quiet pride.
Steve was a man who loved the outdoors and found joy in every season of life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, and especially playing golf-often alongside his granddaughter, who treasured those rounds with him. On the golf course, he was affectionately known as "Bigfoot," a nickname that still brings smiles to those who shared the fairways with him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Raines Moore; his daughter, Ginger Fears, and her husband, Randy Fears; his granddaughter, Lacey Fears Sanders, and her husband, Seth; and his great-grandson, Jack Sanders. He is also survived by his siblings, George Moore, Annette Faulk, and Elaine Moore, along with a number of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elsharath Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 W. Clyde Moore Rd, Cochran GA 31014.
