John "Jack" Moriarty Jr. of Guilford passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. He was the husband of Susan Camp Moriarty of Guilford. He was the father of Jaclyn Moriarty of Colchester and stepfather to Elizabeth Coon (Neil) of Guilford. He is also survived by his brothers Robert Moriarty of Clinton, Neil Moriarty of East Haven, his sister Kathleen Klein of Georgia, and his grandson Eli Coon of Guilford. John was predeceased by his brother Bernard "Jerry" Kelley.
Jack was born in New Haven on May 11th, 1948, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Keohane Kelley Moriarty. He was a warehouse manager for Delia Associates for many years. Jack enjoyed playing golf, listening to country music, cheering on the Yankees and the Giants, a cold Budweiser, and maintaining the perfect lawn. Jack was beloved by his family and friends, and to be honest… anyone who met him! There are no words for how deeply he will be missed.
Calling hours will be held Monday December 1st from 5-7 p.m. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday December 2nd at 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Church of St. Pio Parish in New Haven. Burial will be private. I was only a child..maybe 6 or 7 years old ...but I remember the happiness "John's" birth brought to Maltby Place in New Haven. " Big Ma"Keohane and her son "Rommie" were our next door neighbors/ friends. "Big Ma" had one of the few telephones in her home (Rommie needed it as he was a Policeman and needed to be available ). "Jerry" Kelly and "THe Lillis kids" (Tom, Dave, me. were playmates every day. I remember the sorrow of "Betty's 1st. husband dieing in WW.II and the joy of her marriage to Johnny Moriarty and this baby's birth. When I saw the obit...I actually said to myself...HELLO< ROMMIE KEOHANE..."Jack" reminds me of his uncle. My sincere condolences to the Moriarty/Kelly family (I am aware of "Jerry's recent passing). My Uncle Jack was one of the nicest men I've met. His heart was always filled with love. His reassuring smile and his infectious laugh would light up any room. I remember all of the holiday parties and random visits from all the brothers (Jack, Bobby and Neil) coming over, often bringing lunch and beers to come hang out with my grandfather Jerry. My love and understanding support goes out to Aunt Sue, Elizabeth and Jaclyn, and to there rest of our family. ❤ This will never be easy, but at least we can stick together and support each other. Love you ALL.

Jack was my neighbor while we were growing up and years later I still saw him here and about and around he was liked by everybody he will be missed. I miss him already we were really good friends and neighbors. I will never forget you, Jack may God be with you
