John Edward Morris, born on November 14, 1942, in Concord, North Carolina, passed away on November 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. John lived a full and vibrant life, characterized by his dedication to both his career and his passions.

John had a distinguished career as a General Manager at Bellsouth, where his leadership and commitment were well regarded. In addition to his professional achievements, he proudly served in the Army for two years, an experience that shaped his values and outlook on life.

John's devotion to his family was evident throughout his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Donna Morris, and his step-sons Mark Allred and Jeff Allred, along with their wives, Ashlyn and Annita, respectively. He cherished his role as a grandfather to two granddaughters and one grandson and was a beloved figure to four great grandsons and five great granddaughters. John is also survived by two brothers, Larry Morris and his wife Norma, Jay Watson Morris and his wife Linda, and several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

An active member of his church, John took great pride in contributing to his community and sharing his faith with others. His passions extended beyond his professional life; he enjoyed snow skiing and was an avid motorcyclist, relishing long tours across the United States. Gardening brought him joy as he loved planting flowers, and he cherished moments spent dining out, especially at his favorite restaurant, 131 Main.

John leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, whose memories will remain in the hearts of his family.

A visitation will be held on November 17, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM, with Military Honors. Both events will take place at Raymer - Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, North Carolina. Inurnment will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:00 AM.

John Edward Morris will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit and passion for life will continue to inspire and uplift those he leaves behind.
