John J. Morrison (Jack) 79, of Hanover, MA, died peacefully on June 26 with his family by his side after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson's disease. He leaves his beloved wife Kathleen (Brady) Morrison; his daughter Gina Stoddard and her husband Stephen of Marshfield; grandchildren Kaylene Casoni (husband Andrew), Anthony Serino and Gianna Serino, great-grandchildren Jackson, Noah, and Scarlett, and a sister, Mary Hibbard (husband Roy) and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
John was born and raised in South Boston and later moved to Rockland to raise his family. He retired to Plymouth where he fulfilled his dream of living on a pond. John most recently lived in Hanover to be closer to his family. He worked for many years as a union sheet metal worker with Local 17 and later was employed with the MBTA and retired as a foreman in the Everett shops.
John was a devoted family man with a huge heart, and he loved his wife Kathleen and his family more than anything. He was generous, funny, loving and an extremely hardworking man. Self-taught, he could figure out how to fix or build practically anything. He loved the beach, watching sports and spending time with his family. John took pride in being the best "Papa" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a kind and gentle soul and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. We take comfort in knowing he is at peace, looking down on the people he has touched, and will always have a place in our hearts.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, online at The Michael J. Fox Foundation Tribute Giving
