John P. Morro, Jr. 69, of South Amboy, formerly of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025. Born in Jersey City to the late Catherine and John P. Morro, Sr., John spent his formative years in North Bergen, and graduated from Hudson Catholic HS. He was a proud alumni of Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI., a known campus rabble-rouser who received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He held his time in Milwaukee and the lifelong friends he made there very dear. He returned to New Jersey to follow in John Sr.'s footsteps becoming a Certified Public Accountant, where they worked alongside each other for many years at the firm his father founded, John P. Morro PA, CPA.
Devoted father of Jeffrey Morro and his wife Kristina, Laura Morro and her fiancé Brad Monte and Joseph Morro and his wife Maria. Dear brother of Christine Kelly and her husband Michael, a lifelong childhood friend in his own right to John. Loving grandfather of Harper (11), Jackson (10), Frank(10), Landon (8) and Nash (4). Longtime partner of Nicoletta Berg, with whom he shared many of life's adventures. Former spouse of Loida Galante, who is the mother of his three children.
John generously gave his time and financial expertise in service to his community, sitting on several boards and committees including the Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education, Hasbrouck Heights Hall of Fame, Board Treasurer at Upper Montclair Country Club, The Liv Morro Memorial Foundation, and Lighthouse Bay HOA.
John could often be found at Upper Montclair Country Club, where he was a member for over 30 years. His love of golf took him around the world and was a passion that he shared with some of his closest friends. He was also an avid fan of the New York Football Giants, and a long-time season ticket holder who was recently inducted into the NY Giants Fan Hall of Fame. His tailgates were the stuff of legend, and he was not to be outdone on the grill or skillet. John loved the beach and was proud to carry on the Morro Family tradition at LBI with "Nellie's Nest". Long Beach Island is a cherished place where John made lifelong memories with his grandchildren.
John was a man who knew the importance of balance. While he loved a glass of wine (or two) with a perfectly prepared meal, he was also proud to be active and fit. He looked forward to early morning training sessions with Dina & Dave, biking up and down the NJ coast, and hiking all over the States. He was just as happy roughing it in the basin of the Grand Canyon and exploring the Alaskan tundra as he was with his feet digging in to a white sand beach sipping something strong.
He will forever be remembered for his love and duty to family first, his kindness, his generosity, his humor, and his brilliant mind. He was truly a great man, a humble man, and will be an enduring inspiration for all who were lucky to know him.

Church, 260 Boulevard, Hasbrouck Heights at 12 Noon. Private celebration of life at Upper Montclair Country Club to follow.
