John Edward Muenich

John Edward Muenich, 91, devoted father, husband and friend passed away on October 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving children. John was born on August 16, 1934 to John F. and Nollie Muenich in Shiner, TX. John lived a life full of kindness, love, and generosity toward everyone he met.

John grew up in Shiner, Texas and graduated from Shiner High School in 1953. He was an avid athlete who lettered in baseball, football and basketball. He went on to earn an associate's degree in cost Accounting from Wharton Junior College. After serving in the US army John worked in the oil field/refinery supply industry for his entire career. When the oil bust occurred in the 1980s, John invested in himself by opening his own business, JEM supply. He enjoyed sales and forming life-long relationships with his customers, many of whom he kept in contact with up until his passing.

John was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Rockwall, TX where he served on the board of directors and as an usher. He was a member of Older Wiser Lutherans (OWLs) who gathered for bible study and fellowship. John was one of three remaining members at the time of his passing. He enjoyed traveling with his army buddies to yearly reunions all over the country. John enjoyed playing golf and running up until his late seventies. In his later years he enjoyed going to the Choctaw casino in Oklahoma to play slot machines with other seniors.

Left to cherish his memories are his children Tanessa Horne and her husband Duane: grandchildren: Ashlyn, Carson and Tiffany Horne; Tyson Muenich and his wife Cristen: grandchildren: Adilynn and Ian Lowrey and Abigail Muenich. Stepchildren: Mark Linane: grandchildren: Trinity, Brynnly and Roman Linane; and Michael Linane and his wife Kim.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and the love of his life Patty Muenich with whom he was married for 35 years.

Although he has been delivered home to our Lord and Savior, his legacy and loving memories will live in our hearts forever.
