John Raymond Neitzert, Sr., age 73, of
Carrollton, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Milan Health Care in
Milan, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 2, 1949, in Pettis County, Missouri, to Roy J. and Elsie Mae (Cornine) Neitzert.
He was first married to Phyllis J. Harvey and they had two children, John, Jr., and Laura Diane. He later married Tina Marie Stomboly and together they had two daughters, Crystal and Nicole. Despite their eventual divorce, their bond remained strong, and it was John's wish that Tina's cremated remains be placed in his casket so they could be buried together.
John worked for the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, holding various positions. He was thoughtful, kind, and a hard worker, traits that were recognized and appreciated by his colleagues. He was injured while at work and became disabled.
John was deeply religious and spiritual, and liked collecting religious memorabilia. He was an Ordained Minister at the Universal Life Church, and felt profoundly blessed to perform his son's wedding ceremony. John also held a deep respect for veterans and was honored to ride alongside the Patriot Guard Riders, providing military honors to deceased veterans.
John was an avid outdoorsman who loved riding his black Harley, hunting, and fishing. In his later years, he found solace in a simpler life, enjoying his solitude and spending time watching his favorite shows, Heartland and Walking Dead, on Netflix.
He had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren, to whom he was extraordinarily generous. John's life was a testament to his loving, thoughtful, and gentle nature. He touched many lives with his kindness and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
John is survived by his children, John Raymond Neitzert, Jr.,(Teah) of
