John Neubauer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by G.H. Herrmann Funeral Homes - Madison on Mar. 4, 2026.
John C. Neubauer, 68, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on March 1, 2026. He was born on September 14, 1957, in Indianapolis to the late John G. and Naomi D. (Miller) Neubauer.

John spent his life in the Indianapolis area and was known for his easygoing nature and the simple joys that meant the most to him. His happy place was at home with his loving wife, Cindy. He often said it was simply "you and me, babe," a phrase that reflected the deep bond and companionship they shared throughout their nearly 31 years of marriage.

John was a devoted fan of the Indianapolis Colts and enjoyed cheering on his team every chance he got. He also valued the friendships he built throughout his life. He enjoyed going out with "the guys" for target shooting and sharing good times together. One of his favorite traditions was meeting friends for their regular "old man's breakfast," where stories, laughter, and friendship were always on the menu.

He worked as a delivery driver for Car Quest in Franklin, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee. John took pride in his work and in the relationships he built with coworkers and customers over the years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy J. (Everling) Neubauer; his children, Neil (Tina) Marsh, Jim (Jana) Neubauer, Joni (Kyle) White, Stefanie Jenkinson, and Ryan (Erin) Jenkinson; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Jerry Myer, Marilyn Henegen, and Kathy Harding.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mikki Sanders.

John will be remembered for his loyalty to his family and friends, his love of home, and the quiet, steady presence he brought to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate a life well lived from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation in John's memory.

The family invites those who knew John to share their memories, photographs, and condolences online, helping to honor his legacy and keep his memory alive.
