John Olson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Starks & Menchinger Chapel - Saint Joseph on Feb. 8, 2025.
John Kristian Olson passed away on Tues. Feb. 4, 2025 to the strains of his favorite hymns and one final family hug. He will be in our hearts forever.
John was born on Sept. 17, 1951 in Neenah, WI, to Ode and Merle (Koski) Olson. He grew up in Marquette, MI and graduated with a civil engineering degree from Michigan Tech University. He married Pam Frank on Sept. 10, 1977 in Mt. Prospect, IL. John moved his family to Stevensville, MI in 1982, where he became and remained co-owner of Merritt Engineering, Inc. until his retirement.
John had great fondness for the family camp in Skanee, MI. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, beer-making and music-but, most of all, being with his grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife Pam; son Andrew (Nicole) Olson; daughter Lauren (Derek) Kauffman; grandchildren Liam and Willa Kauffman; Margot and Elise Olson; sister Sue (Joe) Cherrette; brother Tom (Beth) Olson and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at Saron Lutheran Church, 510 Main St., St. Joseph, MI on Mon. Feb. 17 at 10 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton Harbor. Those wishing to share a favorite memory may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com

Dan would have always remembered the laundry room talk. Maybe you two can revise it in heaven together.
