John Palumbo Obituary
July 30, 1928-November 10, 2024
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to John Palumbo, who passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at the age of 96.
John was born on July 30th, 1928 in Bronx NY, to Carolina and Peter Palumbo. He later moved to Rockland County to raise his family. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. John is survived by his loving wife Frances; his three children, Sandra, Carol and John Jr; beloved Grandchildren, Joseph, Christina (Jarred), Diana (Robert), Jennifer (James), Stephanie (Luigi); and his seven great grandchildren.
John was a proud Korean War Veteran achieving the rank of Sergeant. John retired from Manhattan and Bronx Transit Authority and in his later years, worked and retired from Rockland State Hospital. He was an avid train collector, a lover of music and was the rock of our family.
Though he is no longer with us, his memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him, and the moments they shared will be cherished forever.
Visitation will be held on Sunday November 17th, 2024 from 4pm-8pm at Joseph W. Sorce J. Funeral Home in West Nyack, NY.
A Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Shrine in Nanuet, NY on Monday November 18th, 2024 at 10am. Burial to follow.
As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories that are close to our hearts. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all the lives that he has touched. We find comfort in knowing that he will continue to watch over us as our guardian angel.
