It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John (Jake) Parks on July 26, 2025 at his home in Lower Salem Ohio with his family by his side. He was born in Marietta, Ohio on May 20, 1959 to Jean Parks Zimmerman and Wayne Parks.

John was a 1977 graduate of Waterford High School and Washington County Career Center. He drove truck for Windland trucking for many years.

John is survived by his wife, Diana (Binegar) Parks, his children, Kevin Parks and Tara Place both of Marietta, Ohio, Katelyn Rathburn and Chelsey Rathburn both of lower Salem Ohio. Sisters, Sally Nichols of Waterford, Ohio and Crystal Danbala of Indianapolis, Indiana. Brothers, Bill (Pawn) Parks of Middle Point, Ohio and Bob (Connie) Zimmerman of Lincoln City, Indiana, nine grandchildren and a large extended family.

John was preceded in death by his parents Jean Parks Zimmerman and Wayne Parks, stepfather Delbert Zimmerman, eldest son Jeremy W. Parks, sister Kathy Weinstock, Brothers Thomas Parks and Daniel Zimmerman.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to Dr. Cawley and the girls from Cawley Hospice.

In lieu of flowers donations to the funeral home to help with the expenses would be appreciated. In honor of John's memory his favorite colors were red and blue if anyone wishes to wear those colors.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday (July 31) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 8:00. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
