John T. Parramore, 71, of Valdosta, died at his home on Friday, August 12, 2011. Born in Valdosta on July 9, 1940, he was the son of the late Herman William Parramore and Elizabeth Terrell Parramore. He was a graduate of Valdosta High School where he played football under Coach Wright Bazemore. A graduate of the University of Georgia where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order Social Fraternity. Mr. Parramore served in the National Guard. He was a Real Estate Developer and a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ. Mr. Parramore trained Labrador Retrievers, was an excellent marksman, enjoyed skeet shooting and was locally known for making his Po-John Smokers and hot sauce. Survivors are his daughters and sons in law, Jenny and Edward Cochran of Valdosta, Alexis and Craig Comer of Charleston, South Carolina; a son, John Ashley and Ceil Parramore of Tallahassee, Florida; six grandchildren, Charlotte Cochran, Vivian Cochran, Ben Cochran all of Valdosta, Ada Comer, Georgia Comer both of Charleston, South Carolina, Will Parramore of Tallahassee; twin sister, Itty Bitty and Sonny Wisenbaker of Dahlonega, sister, Ada Alice and Beverly Dolan of Charlotte, North Carolina, brother, Herman and Mary Parramore of Cleveland; brother in law and sister in law, Robert and Bette Jean Daugharty of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Daugharty Parramore. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2011, 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Bryan Jarvis and Mr. John Klimko will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
