John Pisula Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hampton Cove Funeral Home Cemetery & Crematory on Apr. 23, 2025.
John Pisula, a man of spirited energy, courageous heart, and passionate soul, passed away on April 22, 2025, in Miami, FL, at the age of 55. Born on July 18, 1969, in Cincinnati, OH, John's zest for life and love for his country was evident from his early years. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him.
John is survived by his devoted wife, Sofina-Jo Pisula, and their cherished children, Stephen and James Pisula, and Kaydnece and Abigail Sayama. He was a loving brother to Jo Ellen Childers and Jeri Childers of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and to James Childers (Denise Dean) of Larwill, Indiana. John was predeceased by his father, Stephen Pisula, and his grandparents, who instilled in him the values of family and patriotism that he carried throughout his life.
John's professional life was marked by his dedication as a Government Contractor for Chenega Corporation, where his work ethic and commitment to excellence were well-known. His colleagues respected him for his integrity and his unwavering dedication to his duties.
A man of diverse interests, John's love for horror movies, especially those featuring zombies, was only matched by his enthusiasm for sports. A die-hard Detroit Red Wings fan, he could often be found cheering on his favorite hockey team, embodying the spirited nature that characterized him. His patriotism shone brightly, as he read the Constitution every July 4th, celebrating the nation he held so dear. This same passion extended to his love of shooting, an activity that brought him great joy and peace.
John's love for his dogs, Nyla, Snowball, and Buddy, was a testament to his kind and caring spirit. They were not just pets but members of his family, sharing in the adventures and love that filled the Pisula household.
Those who knew John will remember him for his courageous spirit, whether facing life's challenges or standing up for his beliefs. His passion for life was contagious, inspiring others to live fully and love deeply. John's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the pursuit of happiness, traits that will continue to live on in the memories of his family and friends.
As we bid farewell to John Pisula, we celebrate a life lived with vigor and a heart that knew no bounds. His spirit will forever be a guiding light to those he leaves behind. John's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but his story will continue to be told by the many lives he touched.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. John Pisula will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

I first met John as the young boy down the street. My sons loved to play and swim with him and I enjoyed his engaging personality and beautiful smile. My boys, especially Jason, stayed in touch with John even when he was half a world away. John will be missed but always remembered. As John Steinbeck once wrote: "It's so much darker when a light goes out than if it had never shone." SHINE ON, JOHN!
