John R. Platt

John "Bob" R. Platt, 79, of North Huntingdon, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at UPMC East Hospital in Monroeville. Bob was the beloved husband of 40 years to the late Susan R. Barth. Born on July 25, 1945, in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late John 'Jack' and Gertrude Platt; brother of the late Jacqueline P. Victor and Linda Kitchen; brother-in-law of the late Carol (Joseph) Dwornick and Ellen (John) Hermesmann; and uncle of Jodi (the late Randy) Antonacci, Jada (Mark L.) Donato, Patrick, and Matthew (Emily Hardy) Hermesmann. Great-uncle to Alex J. Antonacci and Annessa A. Donato; also survived by his best friend, Peter (the late Patty) Soutouras. Bob worked his whole life for US Steel, Christy Park Industries, where he ended his career as a foreman. Bob was a devoted husband, treasured uncle, and trusted friend. Known by many as 'Uncle Bob,' his kindness, generosity, and huge heart will be deeply missed but always remembered. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the ICU at UPMC East for their compassion and excellent care.
