John F. Rinker, 91, of Scotrun, passed away on Friday afternoon, November 7, 2025 while under hospice care in his home. He was the husband of June (Smith) Rinker with whom he shared 68 years of marriage on September 28th.

Born on November 28, 1933 at home in Reeders, he was the son of the late Wade and Lulu (George) Rinker and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

He served in the United States Army.

In earlier years John worked at Patterson Kelley in East Stroudsburg and then in maintenance for the National Park Service until his retirement.

He was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Scotrun and also belonged to the Pocono Lodge #789 F&AM; Tall Cedars of Lebanon; American Legion in Pocono Lake; Fraternal Order of Eagles; and the Pocono-Jackson Townships Historical Society.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by twin sons, John Rinker and wife Brenda of Stroudsburg and James Rinker of Scotrun; a daughter, Jane Haney and husband, Ronald of Scotrun; six grandchildren, John Henry Rinker and husband Bryan Paride, Nichole Raisner and husband Larry, Jacob Rinker and wife Jennifer, Kyle Rinker and wife Jordan, Luke Haney and wife Amanda, and Rebeckah Haney; seven great grandchildren, Lane Raisner, Timothy Rinker, Neva Rinker, Olivia Rinker, Henry Rinker, Wesley Rinker and Blayklee Haney; a sister in law, Imogene Rinker of Cresco; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, George Rinker, Wade Allen Rinker and Franklin Rinker; and a sister, Norma Howey.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17th at 11:00AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 367 Scotrun Avenue, Scotrun with Rev. William Searfoss and Rev. Peter Richert officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Scotrun.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may he made in John's name to the church (P.O. Box 177, Scotrun, PA 18355).

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the William H. Clark Funeral Home in Stroudsburg.
