John Riva Obituary
John F. Riva, 72, of Subic, Philippines, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
He was born on July 2, 1953, in Wood River, IL, the son of Eugene Joseph and Myrtle Macelyn (Lack) Riva. He married Juvy T. Riva in Subic, Philippines, on June 7, 2025. She survives.
John is a United States Navy Veteran, serving for over 37 years. John is a Class of 1971 Civic Memorial High School graduate.
Along with his wife, Juvy, he is survived by his children, Eugene M. (Enue) Riva of Los Angeles, CA, and Anthony B. Riva of Bronx, NY; grandchildren, John, Jace, Eugene, and Makayla Riva of Los Angeles, CA; a sister, Lou Anne Lanning of Bethalto; nephew, Kyle (Emilie) Delp of Wood River; two great-nieces, Emma and Anna Delp of Wood River; two uncles, Coy (Jayne) Lack of Red Wing, MN, and William Lack of Gans, OK; and an aunt, Lyn Gee of Gans, OK.
Military honors were conducted in Subic, Philippines, in his honor.
