John Gordon Robbins Jr, age 71, of Pine Island MN, and previously of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, at Pine Haven Care Center.
John was born on January 1, 1954, at Camp Rucker, near Dothan, AL, to parents John and Genevieve (Shelstad) Robbins. John was one of seven children. After school, John went on to work at the Kahler Hotel bakery and kitchen for over 32 years.
John enjoyed shooting pool, listening to great music (Elvis, The Beatles and Elton John to name a few), traveling to Graceland, and spending time with his family.
John is survived by his mother, Genevieve (Shelstad) Robbins, his daughter, Ann Robbins of Wabasha, and his siblings, Lee (Susan) Robbins of Blooming Prairie, Daniel (Colleen) Robbins of Goodhue, MN, Steven Robbins (Scott Syverson) of Lakeville, MN, Gary (Rachel) Robbins of Superior, WI, and Sharon (Richard) Huppert of Cave Creek, AZ, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, John Robbins Sr. and infant sister, Anita.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 am on Thursday, April 10, 2025, with a light lunch immediately following at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester MN 55901). Burial will be at St. Columbkill Cemetery in Belle Creek, MN.
The family would like to personally thank Shelly and Matthew from Moments Hospice, who cared for John. Their care and compassion for John and our family was greatly appreciated.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, Goodhue Living or a mental health organization of your choosing.
