I VISITED JOHN BY PHONE SHORTLY AFTER JACK BASTOWS WIDOW CALLED ME ABOUIT JACK PASSING. WE HAD A NICE VISIT AND I ASKED ABOUT HIS SON AND HIS FAMILY-- I COULD ALMOST SEE HIM SMILING FROM EAR TO EAR SINCE HE WAS SO PROUID OF HIM. HE WAS CONCERED ABOUT LOOSIG SITE IN ONE EYE AND I SHARED THAT I GET A SHOT EVERY FEW WEEKS IN ONE OF MY EYES. JOHN AND HIS FAMILY WERE LIKE FAMILY--SAW THEM EVERY SUNDAY AT THE LITTLE SYLVANDALE BAPTIST CHURCH--ON THE CORNER OF OUR FARM. HIS GRANDPARENTS LIVED AND OWNED A FARM NEXT TO OURS--THEIR LAST NAME WAS GILBERT.
EACH PERSON LIVING WILL MISS A GREAT PERSON AND FRIEND BUT FORTUNATELY GREAT MEMORIES OF JOHN CAN AND SHOULD BE CARRIED IN OUR HEARTS AND SHARED.

I called John on Friday to discuss Jack Bastow passing and had a nice visit and as always he told me how his son was doing and how proud he was of he and his family.
The Gilbert and Robinson families were like family and we looked forward to each Sunday since all but George went to Sylvandale Baptist Church on the corner of my parents farm. Each Sunday they had a big Lunch or dinner
We can´t replace John but we need to hold fast to the great memories and his love for his family
