John Clemens Roether, of St. Petersburg, age 42, left us to be with Jesus on May 20th, 2025.
Born Dec. 3rd, 1982 in Orlando, FL, John grew up in Pinellas County attending Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic grade school, Clearwater Central Catholic high school and graduated from the University of Florida.
Survived by his parents, Mark and Suzanne Roether and sister Jaclyn Roether Dlugolecki, his lovely wife Lauren Montali Roether, son James Thomas Roether and daughter Lyla Clemens Roether. His unexpected passing leaves us all grieving greatly.
John was good at everything he did. From having a fabulous family, a world of dear friends, a successful business in orthopedics, to sports and fun. He was Mr. 110%! Full of life and shared it with everyone at home, work and play. That brought out the best in all of us, made us better versions of ourselves. His life was a demonstration of God's love, a shining example of how we should all live. Everybody mattered to him. A truly incredible man. An amazing husband, father, uncle, son, brother, nephew, friend..
He particularly loved golf and all the friends he played with. Boating and fishing a close second, tennis, ping pong, baseball, softball, you name it – he excelled. He shared all the activities he enjoyed in a truly genuine way with all those close to him. He was definitely "genuine" with everyone he encountered, always making everybody more important than himself. What a giving, loving, fun person he'll be remembered as. Sorely missed by all.
There will be a funeral mass celebrated on June 14th, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 1376 Snell Isle Blvd, NE in St. Petersburg, FL. Followed by a private burial ceremony at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater, FL. A reception/remembrance gathering will take place that same day from 12:30 p.m. till 3:30 p.m. at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, 11 Central Ave., St. Pete.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to St. Raphael's Catholic Church, St Petersburg, or LCC Day School, St. Pete or Clearwater Central Catholic High School, Clearwater.

So sad to hear of John´s passing. I remember he would play with the kids in the front yard when they were young, and they adored him. He was a special young man and a kind soul. Prayers for the family.

It has been an honor and a blessing to work along side John in the operating room for over a decade. His smile, light, warmth, and unforgettable personality touched every corner of our team and brought comfort and calm to even the longest days. John had a way of making everyone feel seen and supported, and his presence always brought a sense of steadiness and kindness. He wasn´t just a "rep", he was part of our team, our family. His loss leaves a deep void in our hearts and in the rhythm of the operating room that will never be filled. He will be profoundly missed by me, and by our entire operating room team.

To Lauren, James, Lyla, and family, please accept our deepest condolences. We are so incredibly sorry for your loss. John meant the world to us, and his absence is felt every single day in the operating room. Please know that our entire OR team is holding you in our hearts and standing with you during this time.

With our deepest sympathy. At times like this, words fail us. We hope you know how many friends are thinking of you and wishing you peace. John had such a contagious smile that just drew you in. He will be missed by all who knew him.

John will be missed beyond words! God blessed Jim and me with 3 beautiful baby girls....no boys, but God had a plan to send us the most remarkable young men to be our sons in Andrew and John! I couldn´t have fashioned together a more loving, compassionate, fun loving, dedicated and faith filled son than John (and Andrew) to be the soul mate of our daughters and father to our precious grandchildren! Fly with the angels, John! You will live forever in our hearts! Love you, always

Some people bring a light so brilliant to the world that even after they´re gone, their light remains. John was one of those rare and radiant souls. He had a quiet strength and a gift for lifting others up-whether through kindness, humor, or simply being present.

To Lauren, James, Lyla, and family:
You are surrounded by a community of people who share your grief. As those in heaven wrap their arms around John, we here on earth wrap our hearts around you.
