John M. Ronning, Jr., 78, was born at Asbury Hospital in Salina, Kansas on November 3, 1944 to John M. Ronning, Sr. and Nancy Anne (Stirn) Ronning.
John grew up in Tescott, Kansas and had great memories of the people, places, and events of the community. He graduated with the class of 1962 as president of the senior class and Student Council President. His love of sports was his main interest. He was a lifelong KU Jayhawk fan.
He married Elizabeth Reynolds in 1968 and to this union were born 6 children, Rob, Sarah, Ben, Allyson, Amber, and Jake.
John gained three daughters-in-law, Mary, Debbie, and Jesica and his children gave him 10 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Celeste, Hannah, Allexys, Emma, Carson, Elias, Myah, Hallie, Noah, and Ayla.
In 2007, John married Carolyn (Perrin) Brockway added to his family, children, Terri Lytle (Jamie) and Anthony Brockway (Bobbie); and grandchildren, Jack Lytle (Renee), Sam Lytle, Luke Lytle, Kaelan Brockway, Alanna Brockway, Rowan Brockway and Arik Brockway.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children; and grandchildren and loving faith family of Grace Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dick, Cheryl, Debbie, and granddaughter, Hannah.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Grace Baptist Church, 400 E. Crawford St., Salina, Kansas. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 pm, at Franklin Cemetery, Tescott, Kansas.
Donations may be made to Grace Baptist Church, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home and Crematory, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas 67401.
