John Rossini Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by James Funeral Home on Jan. 12, 2025.
John Raymond Rossini, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025 at Preston House of Charlotte, NC.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Jo; his sons Patrick (Dorothy) and James (Patti), his brother James (Eileen); his grandchildren Josh, Nick, Noelle, Alissa, Abagail, Dawson, and Kassie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Elma Rossini and his brother, Noel Rossini.
John was born August 16, 1940 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended college at Louisiana Tech University, where he obtained a degree in mathematics. Upon graduation he joined the United States Navy where he met the love of his life Mary Jo. After the Navy, John had a wonderful career as an engineer that afforded him the opportunity to travel the world. John loved to tell stories of those travels until his final days.
Outside of work and in retirement John loved to spend time with his family. Among his favorite activities were RV trips to state parks, fishing, caring for his dogs, enjoying the outdoors, and watching/playing golf. Life was difficult for John over the last several years following a stroke. Despite those challenges, John's gratitude for his family's support never wavered and was inspiring to those around him. John's legacy will live on in the cherished memories he created with his loved ones and the lasting impact he had on their lives.
The family wishes to thank the many loving caregivers at Preston House and VIA Hospice for the compassionate care provided for the last 6 1/2 months.
A graveside service with immediate family only will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, 1:30 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to VIA Health Partners (P.O Box 470408, Charlotte, NC 28247; donatehospice.org).
