John Edward Sapp

John Edward Sapp, beloved father, brother and uncle, died peacefully February 12, 2017 at the age of 84 after a long illness. John was the husband of the late Roberta Sapp and the loving father of Lisa (Sapp) Kennedy and her husband Sean Kennedy who reside in Columbus, Ohio. John is also survived by his sisters, Judith Everett, who resides in Ravenna and Beth Troy, who resides in Rhode Island as well as his niece and nephews. Son of Ted Sapp and Mildred (Hall) Sapp, John resided in Kent for his whole life. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High and Kent State University and served in the army during the Korean War. His activities included work with the Portage County Democratic Party, as a volunteer at the University Hospital for many years, and a member of the Standing Rock Cemetery Board. John's sense of humor will be missed greatly by his friends and family. Visiting hours for family and friends will be at Bissler's Funeral Home in Kent on Saturday, February 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Portage County Animal Protective League in Ravenna.
