John Schaefer

He was a great man. He believed and trusted in me and I'm forever grateful for this.

To the entire family especially Sam and Jane my heartfelt condolences at this time of your loss.

My sincerest sympathies go out the the Schaefer family. John M. Schaefer was a big influence early on in my Real Estate career. During my time at Schaefer Development in the 1980's, I gained valuable experience and insight into Real Estate development overseeing the construction of multifamily and commercial projects in San Antonio and El Paso. Being fresh out of college with a degree in Real Estate Finance from the University of Texas, John gave me the opportunity to sink or swim as a project manager. The experience and knowledge I gained while working for John was a valuable foundation for my career in real estate, and I will always appreciate the opportunity he gave me. He will be truly missed.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

This note is to Smiley from Charles Gregory III. Edward Sealy sent me this otherwise I would not have known about your dad. I didn't know about your mother until now. I remember both of your parents fondly and truly enjoyed their company. I wish it could have lasted longer. Growing up took time, I had a long way to go and little time to get there. It would have been really nice to have had more time to spend with your parents. I think of you, Jane and Sam frequently when I drive by Country Lane. Those were great times on the tennis court and swimming pool. Give me a call when you get this message. I know your dad and mom will be missed. You made my senior year much more special. Ace will always be an indelible person in my life. He was always a friend, comrade, and buddy, and I shall treasure forever our times together in Texas and Wyoming. There has never been a finer family person and I send much love in particular to Sam and Jane. I will always cherish the opportunity to have been his advisor and partner on many occasions. He will not be forgotten.

So sad to hear of John's passing. It's always been a pleasure seeing John when he came into the offices of Harry Jewett Associates. I've known him for over 20 years now. He will be greatly missed.
