I had the pleasure of being Father Jack´s next door neighbor on Woodbine Avenue in Bryantville/Pembroke for 15 years. Over these years we saw how his neighbors and wonderful friends, Jeremy and Melissa Scott and their son, Cameron, took such good care, with love, of Father Jack. We also saw how Maureen loved and attended to Father Jack. He was blessed with wonderful people, wonderful friends. I would tell folks that if Father Jack was the Pope, we would become Catholic. We so admired Father Jack. Eight years ago Lisa and I got a golden retriever puppy. We took her over to show Father Jack and told him that we had not named our pup yet. Father Jack looked at our pup and said to us to name our pup, Lucy, meaning `light´. Lucy loved Father Jack and would go next door to visit him as often as she could, or `talked´ to Father Jack from her yard to his. We will miss Father Jack very much.

I met Father Jack at my home parish growing up Immaculate Conception In Weymouth in the 60´s. My husband had known him too from the CYO events he attended at Immaculate Conception as a teen. We met again when my husband and I married and moved to Brockton at Christ the King Parish/Saint Colman´s. We enjoyed many cookouts at his home on Sandy Pond in Bryantville, MA with the staff of Saint Colman where I was hired by Father Jack to teach children´s Religious Education. He had a great train collection outside! The kids enjoyed swimming and taking the row boat out for a ride on the pond! He was a very good liturgical priest! He loved and respected the Lord and this was evident in his preaching! May you be met warmly at the gates of heaven Father Jack and god bless you always!

Fr Jack was a very good liturgist. He was also very caring about the health of the seriously I´ll in the community of St Colman´s.
If you want to see him smile, ask him about his train collection.
May God give him eternal rest and a train ride to heaven.
