John Schemitsch

John Schemitsch, 74, of Myrtle Beach SC passed away peacefully on Thursday April 13, 2023. He was the son of the late Leopold and Albina Schemitsch. John lived in Maspeth, New York for most of his life. He spent the last 14 years living in sunny Myrtle Beach, SC.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he graduated from Baruch College in 1969. He then began working as a financial analyst for a while and then became a financial editor at Standard & Poors in Manhattan. He spent 37 years working at that company. John enjoyed golfing, swimming, reading and trying out all the eateries in Myrtle Beach once he retired.
John and his wife Elizabeth whom he met at Standard & Poors married in 1974. Together they raised twin daughters, Mary and Elizabeth. John also became a grandpa or Opa to 3 grandchildren over the years. John enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Emily, Michael and Matthew. He enjoyed playing board games and card games and reading to them when they were small.
