John Schneider Obituary

John "Jack" Schneider, 95, of Finleyville, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2026, in Paramount Senior Living, McMurray. He was born April 10, 1930, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Alvina Schneider. Jack was born and raised in Carrick and graduated from St. Basil's High School. He retired as a systems analyst working for McGraw Edison and Pittsburgh Steel. Jack was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, where he served as a lector and usher. He enjoyed Pittsburgh sports. Jack served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Surviving are two sons, William (Linda) Schneider of Mechanicsburg and David Schneider of Finleyville; one granddaughter, Nichole (Daniel) Menezes of Mechanicsburg; one great-grandson, Maximilian Menezes; and many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great- nephews. Deceased are his wife of 68 years, Carol Schneider; his brother, Robert (Sarah) Schneider; in-laws, John and Sarah Staab; and sister- in-law, Suzanna (Ronald) Pfaff. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, February 9, in Kegel Funeral Home, Inc., David P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, in St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John XXIII Parish), with interment following in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. Everyone is asked to meet directly at Church. Memorial donations can be made to St. John XXIII Parish, 3609 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, PA 15332; or St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org
