John Schultz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home on Feb. 16, 2026.
John Leo Schultz, 92, passed from this life peacefully in Farmington, NM where he had called home for the past 57 years.

He was born in Oshkosh, Nebraska to Susan and John Landrum Schultz. At an early age, his family relocated to Kersey, CO.

John enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War. Shortly after his return, he started a new chapter in his life with his wife of 51 years, Donna Lou Winters of La Salle, CO. They had four children together and moved to Farmington in 1969. He worked for numerous companies before retiring after 20 years working as a Route Sales Representative for Frito-Lay Inc. He knew no strangers as he would strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere at any time. He loved to laugh, tell jokes, stay busy and spend time helping others. He spent a great deal of time as a weekend mechanic fixing and repairing friends and acquaintances automobiles.

He is survived by his three sons: John and wife Miriam of Phoenix AZ, James of Farmington, Dean and wife Pilar of Farmington and his two grandchildren, both of Farmington, Erik Schultz and Dr. Ashley Schultz (Graff) and her husband Ethan and a great grandson, Karter Dean Graff.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Donna Lou (Winters), his daughter Debra Schultz, his parents John and Susan and his six siblings: Gladys Evelyn Schultz (Sealey), Inza Viola Schultz (Albee), Charles Edward Schultz, Joan Rosalie Schultz (Echele), Peggy Lucille Schultz and Cleo Annabelle Schultz (Ahne).

He requested a private memorial service and wished to be cremated with his ashes laid to rest next to his wife's ashes at Memorial Gardens, in Greeley, Colorado.
