I very much enjoyed talking with John at Broad Ripple Kiwanis Club get-togethers. He made and donated beautiful bird house feeders for our fundraisers and he gave me his recipe for Baked butter beans which I have made and enjoyed. We'll miss you, John.

I knew John through the Broad Ripple Kiwanis Club, and he helped me with many "around the house" things such as refinishing my Tell City chair and helping me with car problems. He made great ribs and played the piano. He personally delivered my choice of wheelchair, walker, and/or crutches when I broke my leg in 2010, and I said "Now this is service!" I'm glad he said that the VA treated him well, as they should treat a WWII vet!

I was a therapist that worked with John at Carmel Health and Living. We celebrated our birthdays together this year as mine is one day after his. I have many fond memories of my time with John and am glad I had the opportunity to meet him. He was truly a wonderful man and I was always excited to spend time with him as he was always a bright spot in my day. His smile and personality will truly be missed.

John was a wonderful friend and a dedicated Kiwanian. He was kind and generous. He could play the piano, fix anything and loved to come to lunch. I know I am just one of many people who will miss him very much. Rest in peace, John.

Knew John through the Broadripple Kiwanis Club. Enjoyed being with him, fun loving, dedicated Kiwanian and heard his exceptional piano playing many times during progressive dinners at Chris Carlson's home. He will be missed.

We purchased John's family home in 2001 and have fond memories of him. We will miss his smile, but we will always remember him.

I didn't personally know John but I'm a good friend of his daughter, Janet, and through the years, she has told me so many great stories about her Dad that I felt I knew him. I know for Janet and her family, his presence will be missed.
