John Sharp Obituary

John was born in Fresno, California on December 3,1950 to parents Pearl and Garl Sharp from Oklahoma.
He was raised with siblings totaling 14, including John. He grew up hunting and fishing and loving outdoor life until the age of 18 when he graduated from high school. His love of these activities continued throughout his life. In the later years, he was an avid golfer and loved traveling, camping and spending time with all the family.
At that age, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps, where he served in Vietnam, became a POW, and returned home February 10, 1975 and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
His military service was followed by marriage and raising a family. He was blessed with a son; John Sharp Jr., and his family continues to grow with 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He spent his last 12 years with his wife and best friend Lynn. They were married on 11/11/2014 and became a blended family with 4 children. John Sharp Jr, Alex Perez, Heather Perez, and David Perez Jr.
John is loved and remembered also by his fellow Elks of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks in Madera, CA.
