John Sherman

John Sherman was born on October 3, 1935, in Burlington, Vermont to Marling Sharman and Kathryn (Thompson) Sherman. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on January 6, 2026, in Broomfield, Colorado. He was 90 years old.
John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1954-1957. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to public service through a long and dedicated career in civil service with the U.S. Air Force at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Sherman; his children, Kristina Black of Firestone, CO, Timothy (Tina) Sherman of Santee, CA, and Kyndra "Kat" Sherman of Broomfield, CO; and his grandchildren Noah Sherman of Ramstein Air Force base, Germany, Justus Sherman of Santee, CA, and Michelle (Alex) Rose of Keenesburg, CO.
His legacy also lives on through his great-grandchildren Casey Bunfield, Cayden Rose, and Everly Rose. John is also survived by his brother Thomas Sherman and niece Karen Sherman of Henderson, Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Casey Carlton, and sister-in-law Wendy Sherman.
Outside of work and family life, John found joy in golf and fishing-pastimes that brought him peace and connection with nature. He was also a talented artist who enjoyed painting and drawing throughout his life.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on January 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Rundus Funeral Home 1998 W. 10th Ave. A reception will follow the service.
