John Sherman Obituary

John Robertson Sherman 1958- John R. Sherman, 67, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026.

John was born on June 2, 1958, in Cheyenne. Graduating from East High School and the University of Wyoming, John spent 30 years with the State of Wyoming and built a CRE appraisal business, Sherman Appraisals.

Above all else, John was a devoted father and grandfather. The greatest joy of John's life came when with the birth of his grandson, Sébastien. He remained closely connected to his children's mom, Debra Ten Haken, sharing nearly nightly phone calls and messages-a testament to their enduring respect and friendship.

John is survived by his daughter, Marjorie Sherman Dupuis (Justin and Sébastien). He also leaves behind siblings, Lynn Vosler and Greg Sherman; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his stepdaughters, Erin and Leah Aylward; and his parents, Janet and Bill Sherman.

A private Celebration of Life will be held on his favorite island in Florida. Please contact Marji to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's name can be made to the Purple Iris Foundation: Donate/BrewerMaine/PIF. Please note that the donation is in memory of John Sherman.
