John Sigsbee Obituary
John David Sigsbee, 45, of Goshen, died on July 14, 2025, at Goshen Hospital from a courageous battle with an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 4, 1979, in Elkhart, to David R. and Nancy J. (Bowen) Sigsbee.
Surviving John are his children, Alyssah, Eric, Thomas and Katie Sigsbee; his mother Nancy Sigsbee, Goshen; sister Amy J. Sigsbee, Edwardsburg, Michigan; brother, Brett Sigsbee, Goshen; and grandmother Mary L. Sigsbee, Elkhart.
He was preceded in death by his father David, grandfather John W. Sigsbee and maternal grandparents Duane and Laura Bowen.
John proudly served his country as a United States Marine Corps veteran, including a deployment to Afghanistan with Special Operations. He was a proud father and a generous, kind soul who touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. Throughout his lengthy and painful illness, John never gave up hope. He faced each day with strength and determination, fighting with unwavering courage until the very end. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
In accordance with his wishes, John chose cremation and requested no services.
John's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Goshen Inpatient Hospice and all of the doctors and nurses who cared for him with compassion and dignity.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Elkhart County Humane Society or a charity of the donor's choice.

John, we have only known each other for a short three years, but we are kin, and I love you deeply in my heart. We mostly knew each other through your dad, David Sigsbee. You reached out to me to get to know me for real before you passed. I am forever grateful and you will always be in my heart. R.I.P. Love forever, your cousin, "Moose"

RIP fellow Brother-in-Arms and Leader of Marines. Per the Marine Corps Hymn, the streets of Heaven are much safer, since you have assumed the watch.
My deepest condolences to the family and friends of an American Patriot. For those not in the know, John´s critical skills in Special Operations, which required extensive training, undoubtedly saved many lives, both military and civilian.
Prayer has been offered, and God Bless. May the Almighty keep you in the palm of his hands, providing strength and comfort during this difficult time, and may OUTSTANDING memories offer solace. Semper Fidelis.
