John L. Sivak

John L. Sivak, 78, of Aurora, IL passed away on November 21st, 2019. John was born in Yugoslavia to John and Anna Sivak on December 2, 1940. His family immigrated to the United States in 1949 where he attended school at St. Rita's in Chicago. He married Elaine Rimezoff on June 24th, 1967 in Chicago at St. Symphorosa Catholic Church, and together they had two sons. John was an avid runner having completed the Chicago Marathon multiple times in his lifetime. He enjoyed turkey hunting with his friends, all things John Deere, and was also a talented artist. John's best days were spent working and gardening at their beautiful homestead in Sugar Grove. John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna. John leaves behind his loving wife Elaine, son Jon and wife Laura (Des Jarden), son Jason and wife Elizabeth, brother Paul and wife Annelie Sivak, sister Casandre Sivak, and grandsons Miller Sivak, Henry and Beau Sivak. John's loving and quiet presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held at Healy Chapel in Aurora from 3-7 PM on Tuesday, November 26. A prayer service at Healy Chapel will be held at 10:15 AM on Wednesday, November 27 followed by a funeral Mass at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church at 11AM (1820 Church Rd, Aurora, IL). A memorial luncheon will be held at Tribella Restaurant in Batavia following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in John's name to American Parkinson's Disease Association at www.apdaparkinson.org/, The Salvation Army of Aurora at centralusa.salvationarmy.org/auroraIL/ or The Humane Society of Aurora at www.humanesocietyofaurora.org/.
