John Smith Obituary

John Edward Smith, 100, passed away on October 3, 2022, in Salem, VA. He was born on August 18, 1922, in Stuart, VA to the late Ida Dehart Smith and the late William W. Smith. Mr. Smith was a systems dispatcher for Florida Power and Light Co. He also proudly served in the United States Army during World War II.
He is survived by his daughter Linda Smith Bradley of Las Vegas, NV; his sons Steven E. Smith of Palo Alto, CA and Donald B. Smith of Palm Bay, FL.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife Nancy Keeton Smith; his brothers Jack D. Smith and Alfred Smith; and his sister Hazel Isom.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 12:00 pm at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA. A memorial service will also be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Raleigh Court United Methodist Church in Roanoke, VA.
