I worked with John at Seaphire International. He was truly inspirational and I always think of him with admiration and respect. I remember his words of wisdom well and still find opportunities to quote them to others today. I am so glad he was a part of my life. Thank you John!

Always remember the comforting words of King Solomon 'A good name is better than good oil, and the day of death is better than the day of birth' (Ecclesiastes 7:1). Mr. Sperling spent a lifetime making a good name for himself.  He will forever be remembered for his desire to assist those of us in advanced years by providing online education.  His love for humanity. May his accomplishments and fine reputation also be written in God's "book of remembrance” the most important book of all! Malachi 3:16.

May you find comfort and peace.

John Sperling organized California's first statewide professors of higher education, a part of the California Federation of Teachers, and then he ran into fireman who wanted a college a
education too. He has changed higher education forever. Miles Myers

For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name by ministering and continuing to minister to the holy ones (Hebrews 6:10). John will never be forgotten for all the work he did for a education community and especially those encouraged and inspired in this persons' care. May God continue to strengthen the family and friends in these “times hard to deal with” (2Tim 3:1), especially without a beloved one such as John G. Sperling.

I had the pleasure of working with John and his teamat the Kronos Group back in 2001. He was one of the most interesting, intelligent, and generous people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Our group shared a meal we all cooked together in his AZ home and it remains a wonderful memory. My sympathies to all who will miss him. He was truly remarkable. A life well lived.

Mr. Spelling did a great deed when he made higher education possible for working adults with many responsibilities and limited time for study. Thousands of graduates are deeply indebted to him; and because of this, his presence will be greatly missed. I am sure that as family members and close friends of John Sperling, you will agree that the loss of a loved one can bring sadness. Many persons have found comfort through heartfelt prayers and through the many promises found in God's word. My deepest sympathy for your loss!

I had the pleasure of knowing John and working with his amazing vision for the University of Phoenix from 1980 to 1986. They were among the best years of my career, and I am grateful for even the small part I played in his goal to foster accessibility to and opportunity for higher education for all.

John was an important element to my career pursuit in higher education. I will never forget that.

John, I will be forever geateful for being afforded your direction,company and witness to the remarkable Contribution you gave to the world in which we live. I will hold dearly the memories close to my heart. Rest in Peace.

As an Alumni and former employee, Dr. Sperling was able to rally generations of people to both support and partake in Higher Education. I had the utmost respect for Dr. Sperling and was proud to have worked for the University of Phoenix

Thank you and Rest in Peace, Dr. Sperling. Were it not for your vision, I would not be in a position to complete my doctoral degree within the next couple of months. My condolences to Dr. Sperling's family.
