John Charles Sumner

The first time I met John was at an industry trade show in Vegas in 2008 or 2009. The great thing about John is that he "never met a stranger" - he had a knack for making friends upon the first meeting - and then - when you really got to know him, you realized how fortunate you were to call him "true and loyal friend."

One of the things that I adored about John was his ability to make you feel like the most important person in the world and his compliments were from his heart. He was one of the most kind, funniest, effervescent, gentle, fun person I have ever known. I will treasure all of our personal interactions working trade show booths together as well as all our phone calls. I will fondly remember his full-face smile, contagious laugh and that joy-filled personality that would lift me and everyone else up to higher heights.

He told great stories too - he had SO many of them too because he lived life out loud and in high definition.

He loved his "beautiful bride" Karen, as he always referred to her and I will never forget the first time he showed me her picture at one of the shows we were working and I thought it was a photo of his daughter - he laughed and laughed about that. (oops!)

Much love and comfort to John's family - I know what a hole his passing will leave in their hearts (and all of us as we miss him) but I know for sure he will be spoken of for generations about his big huge heart and love and gratitude for all people and experiences.
