MAY'S LICK — John W. Sweet Jr., 71, of Maysville passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the Meadowview Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Sweet was born on April 8, 1951, in the Mason County area, the only son of the Late John W. Sweet, Sr. and Betty Cox Sweet Fultz.
He was a farmer and a member of the USW Local 162, was employed at Carmeuse Black River Operation for 20 years, and was a long time dedicated carrier and employee of the Ledger Independent.
Mr. Sweet was very outgoing and loved to cook and bake and was known to always lend a helping hand.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Janice Kay Smith and Judith McKee, the mother of his children, Judy Sweet, one son, Timmy Sweet and one great grandchild.
Survivors include his daughters, Christy (Mike) Moyer of Maysville and Jody (Bobby) Hord of Bracken County, four grandchildren, Saydie (Brandon) Goodwin of Augusta, Peyton (Haley) Moyer of Germantown, Tyler (Hannah) Wells of Germantown and Hali Wells of Bracken County, three great grandchildren, Nataleigh and Georgia Goodwin, and Emily Jo Wells, and a niece, Jackie Riley of Rowan County.
All services for John W. Sweet Jr. are being privately held.
