John A Szymanski, 80, passed away at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point, Montana on November 23rd, 2025.

John was born in Poplar, Montana on November 5th, 1945, to John L and Carol (Mohr) Szymanski. John attend and graduated from Poplar High School in 1963. He played football, basketball and baseball. After High School John attended Rocky Mountain College in 1964 with his degree in physical education. He played football for Rocky Mountain Bears as a half back in 1964 and baseball for the Rocky Mountain Open in 1965.

John married Karen Carlsen in Poplar, Montana, on May 1st, 1965. In this union they had a daughter Lenora Kay, born in 1965, and a son Robert John, born in1966, in Billings, Montana. John and Karen divorced July 19th, 1967. Karen’s current husband Kenneth Loomis adopted Lenora and Robert.

John had a child out of wedlock with Annette White Eagle Boxer, Craig Anthony Plummer, who was born in Mile City on April 21st, 1968. Craig was adopted by Plummer family at birth.

John married Eddy Mae Brown in Wolf Point, Montana, on August 26th, 1968. John had enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1968. John and Eddy Mae had their first child Kimberly Ann in 1970, in Wolf Point. Their second child was John Thomas, born in 1974, in Port Smith, Virginia. Their third child Melissa Jean, born in 1980, in Wolf Point. John had transferred from the U.S. Navy to the Montana National Guards. John and Eddy Mae made their home in Wolf Point and John had worked various jobs as a ranch hand, farmer, butcher and at the United States Postal Services. John retired from the National Guard with full retirement honors and from the United State Postal Services in 2000.

John enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. John had a love for bowling at the VFW Lanes in Wolf Point, horses, rodeos, guns and reloading ammunition.

John is survived by his children: Robert John Loomis, Craig (Sherri) Plummer, Kimberly Ann Henry, John Thomas (Twila) Szymanski and Melissa Jean (Dennie) Reum. Grandchildren: Jamie, Kelli & family, Cody & family, Caitlin & family, Daniel, Brittney (George), Martina & family, Tiffany (Jesse), Barbara (Mike), John James (Kelly), Drew (Trevor), Caitlyn, Patrick (Ashley), Hunter (Racheal), Kameron and Emmalynn Marie. Great Grandchildren: Darrell, Christian, Duncan, Paisleigh, Brody, Adaline, Mavis, Conner, Keira, Embry, Easton, Sawyer and Henry Coal. Siblings: Carol Lee (Szymanski) Vondal and Betty Rae (Szymanski) Rowe and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his wife: Eddy Mae (Brown) Szymanski. Daughter: Lenora Kay. Parents: John L and Carol G. (Mohr) Szymanski. Grandparents: John and Virginia G (Conlon) Szymanski, Arthur M. and Blanche Vera (Harrington) Mohr. Siblings: Bonnie Jo (Szymanski) Hallgrimson and Bobbie Szymanski Aunts: Virginia Lucy (Szymanski) Bugaiski, Etta Mae Szymanski, Leona Evangeline Mohr and Carmen Lee Mohr. Uncles: William George Szymanski and Arthur L Mohr.

John has requested to have no funeral services and to be cremated. He will be honored with a 21-gun salute at the Military Circle in Wolf Point, on a later date.
