John Horace Taylor Sr., age 77, of Richmond, departed this life on January 11, 2026. He is survived by his wife, LaVerne Taylor; one daughter, LaToya Reynolds (Michael); one son, John Horace Taylor Jr.(Luisa); five grandchildren, Ellis, Alexander & Gabrielle Reynolds and Amaya & Sean Taylor; one sister, Daisy Boykins; two aunts, Emma Stith and Annie Ivory; sister-in-law, Linda Bussie; four brothers-in-law, James Webb ;(Cheryl), Clyde Webb, Thomas Webb and Marvin Webb; other relatives and friends.
Remains rest at Joseph Jenkins Jr. Funeral Home, 2011 Grayland Avenue, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, 10:30am, at Second Baptist Church, 3300 Broad Rock Blvd., where remains will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral time. Rev. Ralph Hodge, Pastor, Eulogist. Interment, Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church on Wednesday at 10:15am.
