TEEVAN, John Patrick, Age 95, of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away on February 21, 2025. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 9, 1930 to the late John Teevan and Henrietta (nee Bauer). He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Alice, siblings, Raymond and Mitchell; and cats J.P. and Cougar. John is survived by his children, Linda (John) Buchanan, John (Barbara) Teevan, Jr., and Lee Rose Teevan; sister-in-law, Theresa Russell, grandchildren, Kristina (Jack) Brooks, John Derek (Tessa) Teevan, Ryan Buchanan, Kathleen Buchanan, Stella Buchanan, Fiona Teevan-Kamhawi, and Saoirse Teevan-Kamhawi; great-grandchildren, Cadence, Cami, Caleb and Canaan Brooks and John Jameson and Rhys Teevan ; and a host of other family members and friends. Alice and John married on May 17, 1958 and lived on a dairy farm in Blanchester, Ohio for seven years. The family moved to Norwood and later to Lebanon, Ohio, where they lived for 19 years. Since 1987, Alice and John lived in Beavercreek. John was active in the community by donating over 26 gallons of blood and by helping create the Korean War Veterans' Memorial in Dayton and the Veterans' Memorial in Beavercreek. He was proud to serve his country during the Korean War. With the help of daughter Linda, he penned his experience in the Korean War in his memoir My Years of Living in a Tin Can. We love you and already miss your corny humor. We cherish memories of you, from our childhoods to the time when you had "one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel." You have left your loved ones pondering the existential question "John Teevan, are you for real?" John will be laid to rest at Vera Cruz Cemetery, 2824 US Highway 50, Fayetteville, Ohio 45118. In lieu of flowers, please donate blood and/or support animal rescue organizations.
