I had the pleasure of working United News company and Philadelphia Inquirer with John. He was a very hard worker and devoted family man. Not only did he work all those shifts, but The Mailman, as he was known as, managed to work a full time job as a postal carrier. He was one of the guys that instilled a work ethic that many of us emulated.
He loved the shore, and I was lucky to hang out with him in Ventnor. He would always tell me about Jersey Boys, and not until many years later did I realize he was talking about Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.
I was one of the young bucks back then, but always enjoyed Johns company.
Rest in Peace Mailman!!
