John Ross "Biggen" Truett, age 81, a lifelong Bromide, OK resident. He was born on Thursday, November 13, 1941, to Henry Elisha and Ruby June (Wells) Truett, at Bromide, OK. John passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at his home in Bromide, OK. He graduated from Bromide High School where his was the last class to graduate from there. John worked in bridge construction for Union Pacific Railroad for 32 years, before that he drove a school bus for Wapanucka SchooL, and worked Dolese Rock Crusher in Bromide, OK. John proudly served his country in The Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He married Connie Ann (Bagley) on Friday, August 13th, 1971 at Coalgate, OK. They celebrated 48 years of marriage before her passing on July 4, 2019. John was a member of Bromide Baptist Church and a proud member of Chickasaw Nation. He loved sports, especially baseball, big Yankee's fan, being outdoors, his cattle and being with his family.
John is survived by his sons, Jason Ross Truett and wife Katie of Durant, OK, Jared Truett of Bromide, OK; grandson, Kason Ross Truett of Durant, OK; brothers, Haliburton "Pete" Truett and wife Darlene of Bromide, OK, Leroy "Crocky" Truett and wife Sherry of Tishomingo, OK, Rondall "Dink" Truett of Meeker, OK; sister, Alice Sitter Hester and husband Tom of Grapevine, TX; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Elisha and Ruby June (Wells) Truett; wife, Connie Ann Truett; sisters, Elizabeth "Sis" Staggs, Ruby June Collier; brother, Henry Allen Truett.
