John Henry Tucker, of Plainwell and formerly of Kalamazoo passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the age of 80.He was born on June 19, 1945, on the west side of Chicago, IL He leaves behind a legacy marked by compassion and dedication in both his personal life and his career.
For over 20 years, John dedicated himself to the noble profession of a home health care aide. With a kindhearted spirit, he provided support to countless individuals, exemplifying the virtues of patience, wisdom, and intelligence that his family fondly remembers him for. His commitment to helping others extended far beyond his professional role, and into every aspect of his life.
John was deeply interested in spiritual studies of Jehovah Witness. His family often reflects on the joyous memories they created together, particularly sharing meals. He was a great cook, with a special talent for making spaghetti, which brought flavor and warmth to family gatherings, where laughter and love were plentiful.
In addition to his caring nature, John had a zest for life that drew him to nature. He enjoyed fishing and riding his bike, activities that brought him peace and connected him with the outdoors. These hobbies not only provided him with enjoyment but also allowed him to embrace the beauty of life and create treasured memories.
John Henry Tucker is remembered as a loving family man, a devoted caregiver, and a wise, intelligent individual who had a profound impact on the lives of those around him. His presence will be missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his father: Thomas Tucker; one brother: Thomas Tucker and sister: Billie Jett. He is survived by his son: John (Socorro) Tucker, of WI; two grandchildren: Janae Tucker, of WI; Janise Tucker, of GA; and one great granddaughter: Gabriella Tucker. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
