I am a first cousin of Johnny's. My father was Price Ivy Turner, the oldest of the three Turner brothers of West Point, Mississippi. West Point and Woodville were a considerable distance apart, so we did not get to see them often, maybe once or twice a year, but I remember it was always exciting when they came to West Point, and I made a one week trip to Woodville in 1955. Time and distance always made it hard to stay in touch, and I am glad that just in the past few years I made contact with him and we were able to enjoy a number of emails and phone calls. I happened on his obituary totally by accident last week--my wife and I made several attempts to call but were not able to reach anyone. I am 87 and the oldest of that generation--his children have cousins in Arkansas and West Point--I am in Bessemer, Alabama. I always wanted to get some family information to Johnny and if the children are interested I will be glad to tell them what I know about their family line. Thomas P. Turner, [email protected]

Johnny and I were good friends and rode back and fourth to school at Southern Mississippi for the four years that I was there. he had a car and charged us 1.00 dollar for a ride and that bought 3 gallons of gas back in the day. We also competed in sports as I was from Centreville and we were rivals in the day. He will be missed.
