John Hugh Tyrone, Jr., 85, of Granite Falls went home to Glory, Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at Amorem Hospice in Hudson following a period of declining health.
John was born September 6, 1936, in Blytheville, AR to the late John Hugh Tyrone, Sr. and Dorothy Eaton Tyrone. He was a member and Deacon at Christian Fellowship Chapel.
John was a US Veteran serving in the Air Force with tours in France and the South Pacific. He was an adventurous man, he loved to fly his Cessna and he loved to go sailing. He was an entrepreneur with businesses in Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky and Florida. He enjoyed traveling across country, loved duck hunting with his brothers and nephews in Arkansas. He was a master woodworker who loved to share his creations.
Although he loved to travel, he made his home with his daughter and son-in-law for the past 15 years. He loved his family and church family.
He came to know the Lord Jesus Christ later in life and served Him as deacon in his church and was always willing to share his time and talent.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Brian James Tyrone.
Survivors include a special friend, Betty Bridges; brothers, James Tyrone and wife Mary Ann of West Memphis, AR and David Tyrone and wife Linda of Shreveport, LA; children John H. Tyrone, III and wife Dee Decker of Lee Summit, MO, and Allison Hill and husband Stephen of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Samantha Hefner and husband David of Hudson, Christian Tyrone of Conover, John Hugh Tyrone, IV and wife Julia of Peoria, IL, and Amanda Hopper and husband Jake of Illinois; great grandchildren, Gavin Hefner of Hudson and Logan Hefner of Hudson.
The family will receive friends, Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at Christian Fellowship Chapel, 99 North Main Street, Granite Falls. The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM with Rev. Dan Greene officiating.
Many heartfelt thanks to VA, Palliative Care and the many people who serve in Hospice with Amorem, for their love and compassion in the last few days of his life.
