Mary A. Jones

Mary A. Jones, 81, of Hillside Road passed away at home on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

She was born on October 23, 1941 in Highmarket, a daughter of George and Marion Stalker Rutledge. Her family moved to Rome when she was 2 years old and she attended Rome Free Academy. She was united in marriage with Joseph Jones on June 10, 1959. The couple settled in Ridge Mills where they operated a garage and gas station, then moved to a garage on Main St., Westernville, and finally to their location on Route 46, Westernville, Jones Gulf Service Station, where she retired from in 1999. Mary also was employed at Rose Hospital for a time, as well as General Electric years ago.

Mary was a member of Atwell Fish and Game Club, South Lake, Westernville American Legion 1846, and Boonville Elks Lodge. She greatly enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the yearly making of homemade spaghetti sauce, and spending time at camp.

Surviving are her husband Joe; their daughters, Karen (Kevin) Heath and Glenda Jones; son-in-law, Frank Breen; grandchildren, Justus Jo Jones and Jack, Glenn and Paige Jackson, Justin Jones, and Broc and Natasha Breen; great-grandchildren, Talon, Autumn and Willow, and Jameson and Wesley; brothers and sisters, Ron (Ginny) Rutledge, Colleen Daignault, Marge (Mike) Davis, Pat (Diane) Rutledge, Wanda (Bob) Johnson, and Kathie (Bruce) Hawkins; and sister-in-law, Jay Rutledge. Mary was predeceased by a daughter, Lynn Anson-Breen, January 2023, son-in-law, Sean Bonney, and a brother, Donald Rutledge.

A graveside service will be on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Westernville Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Mills Funeral Home, 301 Post St., Boonville.
