John E. Vasbinder, Jr., 84, of Titusville, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the Titusville Area Hospital.

John was born in Bradford on August 24, 1941, to the late John E. Vasbinder, Sr. and Thelma Pire Vasbinder. He married Betty D. Williams on April 15, 1961, in Centerville. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2020. He married Patricia Smith Sellen on January 6, 2022 who survives.

He attended Titusville schools. He was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps. He entered the service in 1958 and was stationed on Okinawa, Japan. He was honorably discharged in 1961.

John was a steelworker for Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. and later was an over the road truck driver.

He enjoyed being with his family and friends and traveling with his wife Betty. He also enjoyed nature while camping, boating and fishing, collecting coins, and was a HAM radio operator. He had also previously owned two businesses, S & B Baits and Coins & Things located in Pleasantville.

John is survived by his wife Patricia of Titusville; two daughters, Susan Cameron of Willows, CA, and Becky Hackman of Youngsville; seven grandchildren, Ben Whedon, Liz Whedon-Robeson and husband Matthew, Robert Hazelett and wife Mya, Fawne Hackman and fiancée Edward, and Autumn, Allison, and Sage Hackman; a great-granddaughter, Addie; three step-children, Sylvia Stearns and husband Jeff, Lee Acton, and Andy Acton; five step grandchildren, and seven step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, John E. Vasbinder III, a daughter, Cheri Vasbinder, and a sister Kathryn Newell.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th at 1:00 PM at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home with the local veteran's organizations conducting full military rites.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Legion Post 658 10 N. Main St. Youngsville, PA 16371; or to the Titusville Senior Center.
