The devoted John Vincent Jr. was born September 25, 1936 to the late Gladys Patton Vincent and John Vincent Sr. in Henderson KY. He was lovingly called husband, daddy, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. Even though his family loved him, God loved him more. The Good Lord called him home to be with Him on Friday, January 17, 2025 at St. Anthony’s Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents, his wife of 48 blessed years Shirley Vincent, siblings Clara Mae Anthony, Beaulah Jones, James Wilbert (Tom) Dixon, Roscoe Dixon, George W. Dixon, Charles Vincent, and Marvin Vincent, one son Bryant Vincent, one grandchild, two nieces, and one nephew. He leaves to cherish so many fond, funny, and loving memories children Avonda Vincent, Keevie Vincent and Keith Vincent (Mary Beth and Kiyah Brown), sister in law Sheila Langley, grandchildren Missie Mockobee (John), Isaiah Ruby, JaBryant Vincent, and DeJohn Eldridge, great grandchildren Jeraden Copeland, Jhion Mockobee, Jah’Meir Mockobee, and John Eddie Mockobee, DeJohn Eldridge Jr., Miyoko Eldridge, and DeLilah Gentry, his sitters who became close friends Amber Gilbert, Cabrina Hughes, Daniel Key, and June Wilson, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.John was also a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was dedicated to his family and was an amazing provider. He faithfully worked until retirement from Eaton Axle Corporation. He loved reading the newspaper, waiting on his mail, sitting on his front porch, doing word searches, spending time with his family, and serving the Lord. He was the best husband and father his family could have ever asked for.
He truly loved the Lord and his life showed it. John was such a mighty prayer warrior. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in his younger years before becoming a member of Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church where he faithfully worshipped and served on the Deacon Board, Usher Board, and Trustee Board almost all of his adult life.
