John J. Vogt of Paducah, Kentucky, born on July 23, 1965, in DuPage County, Illinois, left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. He passed away at his residence on December 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a member of St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church in Paducah
John dedicated much of his life to his career as a long-time truck driver working for Kotter Ready Mix. His enduring passion for NASCAR racing and cruising made every journey a thrilling adventure, reflecting his zest for life. Above all, John cherished his family, who were the cornerstone of his happiness.
He is survived by his devoted spouse, Shelia Vogt, and his children, including sons Weston Vogt of Paducah and Aaron Kimbler of Kansas. His legacy continues through his daughters Chloe Meeks of Paducah, Brooklyn Meeks of Princeton, Amber Kimbler of Paducah, Steph Etheridge of Paducah, Brittany Fraliex of Princeton, Courtney Hameed of Paducah, and Natasha Mitchell of Henderson. John found immense joy in being a grandfather to eleven grandchildren, and he likewise held a special place in his heart for several nieces and nephews.
John is also remembered by his living siblings, including brother David Vogt and sisters Melinda Hicks and Maggie Held, all from Paducah.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Lolita Margaret Vogt, his daughter Megan Mitchell, and his brothers James King and Donald King, whose memory will live on in the hearts of their loved ones.
A visitation honoring John Vogt will be held on December 8, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM, both taking place at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home located at 2410 Jackson Street, Paducah, KY 42003. Deacon Scott Jones will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Paducah, Kentucky.
As we remember John, let us celebrate a life well-lived—a man devoted to his family, deeply passionate about his interests, and a friend to many. His spirit will continue to guide all who were fortunate enough to know him.
