LtCol USMC (Ret) John J. Walsh, 99, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026. Born in Malden, MA, John was the son of the late Joseph and Mildred (Dingle) Walsh. A decorated Korean War veteran, John served honorably in the United States Marine Corps for over 22 years, followed by 14 years as a United States Federal Government Civil Servant in Washington, DC before retiring to Florida.

John was preceded in death by his wife Ann (Nancy) of over 68 years, his sister Mary Fandel, granddaughter Clare Walsh, grandson Jared Campbell, and his son-in-law Rod Batease.

Throughout their military career and their retirement years, John & Nancy traveled the world, enjoying numerous cruises and many other exciting adventures.

Survivors include his children Michael (Kathleen) Walsh, Victoria Batease, Stephen (Jane) Walsh, Pamela (John) Bard and Martha (Jerry) Campbell. John is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Orlando Health Melbourne Hospital and St. Francis Reflections Hospice for their compassion and care of John.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ammen Family Funeral Care, 1001 S. Hickory Street, Melbourne, FL. Interment will take place on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL.
